The Residents of Whispering Valley

Welcome to Whispering Valley, the setting of Demon of Desire and future books. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, only those who belong in the valley can see the road signs leading to the turnoff. On occasion, strangers find their way in, but most of the trouble comes from Otherworldly beings like the demon in Demon of Desire.

Sin Crawford: Absinthe Penelope Crawford was named after her maiden great-aunt, the same woman who died leaving all her money to her cats. Great-Aunt Absinthe left her house to Sin, but Sin has to take care of the cats to have access to their money. Sin's own finances were drained by her ex-boyfriend, so she arrives in Whispering Valley with only what she can fit in her car, and a desire to avoid men in general.(Demon of Desire heroine)

Gower MacDuirmad: Gower is the youngest of the triplets, and was the last one to be turned into a vampire. His appearance is of a (hot!) man in his forties, with a touch of silver at his temples and the same gorgeous blue eyes as his brothers. He became a vampire to live eternally beside his brothers. (Demon of Desire hero)

Enos MacDuirmad: The middle brother, Enos is also the middle one in appearance. While in his thirties he fell in love with a vampire and begged her to change him. She did, but was later killed by vampire hunters. Enos is the gentler spirit, the nurturing one who loves to cook. (Demon of Desire hero)

Baen MacDuirmad: The eldest by forty minutes, Baen was the first brother to become a vampire. While fighting in France during the Napoleonic War, Baen, in his mid-twenties, was mortally wounded. His comrade-in-arms, a vampire, couldn't bear to see him die and fed Baen his own blood to give him immortailty. (Demon of Desire hero)

George Marret: A demonologist whose family were among the first settlers of the valley, Marrett is an expert in world mythology and demons.

Ana Williams A witch and healer, Ana is a practioner of the natural methods of medicine, and works along with the doctor of the community. (Book Two/Bewitched Familiar heroine)

Suthu A demon first reported in the Mediterranean islands centuries ago, Suthu takes possession of a woman's body, seduces any available men and kills them after sleeping with them. When the woman's body dies, Suthu returns into a carved stone fetish and awaits her next victim.

Outcomer The descendants of the original settlers of Whispering Valley refer to those who move to the area as "outcomers". While the name implies someone who doesn't belong in the area, the early settlers were aware of the need of new blood to keep their community vital. They cast a spell over the valley, making it, and the road signs leading to it, invisible to anyone who had no business in the area. Those who are destined to live in the valley will find it with no trouble.
